The Smarter E Europe 2025: DEHN protects integrated energy solutions

The global demand for energy is increasing year upon year. The momentum behind the expansion of renewable energies is particularly strong. However, in addition to generating energy, the necessary infrastructure for its distribution and utilisation must also be established and protected. DEHN will be demonstrating how this can be achieved at "The smarter E Europe" in Munich from 7 to 9 May. Under the motto "Maximize your uptime - we drive your systems' protection", the specialist for lightning and surge protection and safety equipment will be presenting protection solutions for photovoltaics, smart grids, battery storage and e-mobility in Hall A3, Stand 120.

DEHN's motto for smarter E Europe: "Maximize your uptime - we drive your systems' protection"

Electricity from renewable energy sources is central to the reliable energy supply of the future. However, the expansion and operation of these plants require significant investments that must be protected. DEHN products and services protect against faults and failures caused by lightning currents and surges: from ground-mounted PV systems to charging parks and battery storage systems. What all these fields of application have in common are integrated, sensitive electronic components that are susceptible to direct and indirect lightning strikes and surges. Without proper protection, serious damage and longer downtimes pose a major risk for system operators.

Planning and products go hand in hand

DEHN can look back on decades of experience in these areas and, in addition to product-related advice, provides support in the planning and implementation of integrated lightning and surge protection concepts. These should be optimally tailored to the products installed in order to increase the availability and service life of plants and systems.

One of DEHN's trade fair highlights this year is the DEHNguard M DC ACI 1250 FM. The modular type 2 arrester was specially developed for high-power charging solutions and fast-charging stations up to 1250 V. The device has a protection level of 2.5 kV and a short-circuit resistance of 100 kA. In addition, non-response up to 1200 V fulfils the normative requirement of IEC 61851-23. The integrated ACI technology eliminates the need for an external back-up fuse, saving valuable space in charging posts.
