Job Title: Technical Field Salesperson – Lightning Protection (Hazardous Areas)
Responsible to: UK Sales Manager (Project)
Main Focus of Job:
The Technical Field Salesperson will be responsible for selling lightning protection components and design solutions for hazardous area applications (ATEX). This role requires someone who has experience in sales, and a strong understanding of the safety standards and regulations governing ATEX environments. The candidate will work closely with customers to provide tailored solutions that meet their specific needs while ensuring compliance with all relevant industry & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development:
- Identify and target potential customers within ATEX environments.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Present and demonstrate technical products and solutions tailored to ATEX environments.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide expert advice on the selection and application of lightning protection products for ATEX environments.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry developments, technologies, and regulations related to ATEX.
- Conduct site assessments to understand customer needs and identify potential risks in relation to lightning.
- Customer Support:
- Provide post-sale support and troubleshooting assistance.
- Conduct training sessions for customers on product selection and use.
- Handle customer complaints and provide solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Market Analysis & Reporting:
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
- Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and product development based on customer feedback and market demand.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in ATEX environments or industrial sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a technical field.
Full Lightning Protection and Surge Protection training will be provided to the success candidate.
- Technical Skills:
- Good understanding of the DSEAR regulations and other relevant electrical standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with products used in explosive atmospheres, such as intrinsically safe equipment, explosion-proof devices, etc.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Certifications:
- COMPEX Foundation or other relevant training (preferred).
- Valid UK driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
Work Environment:
- The role involves regular visits to sites which have hazardous/explosive areas, requiring adherence to strict safety protocols.
- Willingness to work in various industrial environments, including oil & gas, chemical plants, and manufacturing facilities.
